Russia Drives Back Ukr Bakhmut; MSM Blames Minefields, Admits Time Running Out for Ukraine (Alexander Mercouris)

Alexander is right to point out that Ukraine has made no real gains in the offensive to the South. Other gains have been minimal. They face losing a war of attrition. 

Economically they're in a fix. Stopping European grain, via the Russian blockade, is actually good for the third world since it is killing local production, making it noncompetitive. Apart from the attrition war their economy has also been tanked. It's only kept functioning thanks to Western aid.
