Remember before he became Speaker when Kevin McCarthy was suggesting he would buck the establishment consensus and refuse to write a “blank check” to Ukraine for their war with Russia? Well, now McCarthy is Speaker and he’s flip-flopped on that pledge, making clear during a recent visit to Israel that he is 100 percent behind “supporting” Ukraine in whatever way is necessary to defeat Russia.
