Thanks to Russian (and Chinese) political influence countries that had turned against Syria, such as Turkey and Saudi Arabia, have flipped their support way from the US neocons (that are proving themselves to be off the rails with the present Biden Administration). This is a huge shift in terms of Middle Eastern politics. Alexander says that this is the point where the proxy war in Syria ended. However, the US and Turkey still occupy significant parts of the country. The Turks are likely to leave soon which leaves the US (as illegal occupiers).
