Russia Prepares Offensive; China Reportedly Says Ukraine Surrender 4 Regions, West Alarmed (Alexander Mercouris)

An assessment of the Bakhmut fighting is that the role of the Wagner forces was to clear buildings that had been shelled by the Russian Army. The city was left open so that the Ukrainians would funnel in troops and equipment that would be ground down. With weakened Ukrainian lines the Russians are now preparing to go on the attack, right after the Ukrainians have launched their famed 'counter offensive'. Expect the Russian attacks to be in a similar fashion to the grinding attacks we have already seen.
