How COVID Turned People Into Fascists – Explained By Psychologist! (Jimmy Dore)

The COVID crisis ushered in an episode of “mass psychosis” among the populace where rationality, critical thinking and skepticism flew out the window. As a result of increasing anxiety, loneliness and isolation among the population, COVID arrived at a crucial time to “infect” the masses with a collective hypnosis where the dominant narrative could not be questioned — all this according to University of Ghent professor of psychoanalytic psychotherapy Mattias Desmet.

Jimmy and Americans’ Comedian Kurt Metzger talk to Professor Desmet about how mass formation works and why COVID struck at just the right moment to virtually hypnotize so many of us.



I think a key quote to consider in relation to this 40 min interview is that "It is easier to fool someone than to convince them they have been fooled". And people had a LOT INVESTED in the original lie, in terms of fear for their health and their jobs, and strongly advocated for the lie (if not in public, then in their own minds). And the media and politicians (authority) continued to support the lie with censorship against the truth and a strong dose of ridicule/smearing against those rationally opposing what was going on. The psychological campaign against dissent was a huge factor - for instance calling an effective alternative treatment a 'horse medicine' (which, to informed people, was a stupidly transparent lie - ridiculous shit that people lapped up). Truthful media would NEVER reports such disinformation, and this reveals that the mainstream media is corporate captured, ethically bankrupt and danger to society.
