California is a failed State and will not be able to pay without going into further massive debt. Should these black people get reparations and then be repatriated back to Africa to reverse the injustice? If they stay in the US they'll be living under a perceived oppression for the rest of their lives. And what about white people enslaved over the centuries by North Africans? How many of their descendants survived into the present day and are 'due' reparations? Apparently almost none survived. And what about the British who put and end to slavery? And what about the African Kingdoms engaged in the slave trade - the source of slaves to North and South America?
In truth, none of the people living today experienced the horrors of slavery. They are free people. They also seem to be prisoners of their own minds as Kanye West has pointed out. Look at the success of some black people in the USA. We had a President, we have Oprah Winfrey, Beyonce, millionaire athletes, Kenye West etc. There is no oppression. However, there is bias against criminal and gangsta behaviour in every day life.
There are also other poor people in the US, aside from just black people, that could do with financial help.
