The fans of the Lord of the Rings are massively against this change. It's just virtue signalling nonsense. The fundamental problem is that Western countries are now very mixed where self hating white people, who are propagandised by woke ideology, are bending over backwards to alter things so that non white people feel more welcome. The problem is that Western countries were built, including their cultures, by Europeans. It is a fact. People moving to the West should be okay with that history and not be offended by it. Why move to the West if you hate white people? Imagine if Asians moved in huge numbers to Africa and had the Africans change their culture so that it was more welcoming to them? Imagine if they changed some of their cultural icons to be Asian? The African people would not put up with it.
Rather than change established cultural icons immigrants can create their own (if they want). They could certainly import ideas from their countries of origin, as we see in big multi ethnic cities. But changing a Lord of the Rings character like this reeks of wretchedness and mental illness.
