Neil deGrasse Tyson Disgraces Science (Peak Prosperity)
The fixation with a 'scientific consensus' by DeGrasse Tyson reveals he is a propagandist and a hack.
He said the individual scientist doesn't matter but only the consensus. His argument is insane. Compare this with the quote attributed to Galileo, where he says: "In questions of science, the authority of a thousand is not worth the humble reasoning of a single individual."
The only thing that matters is the data - doing verifiable experiments, making verifiable observations - with open dialog and reasoned discussion about it.
As a science educator Tyson should be well aware his gross miscommunication here. This makes him out to be either incompetent or a liar.
Tyson actually has a long history of making nonsensical arguments when it comes to topics relating to US Government connected corruption and/or corporate interests. He acts as a propagandist along with other 'skeptics', where he/they always seem to side with the official consensus and obfuscate or 'debunk' opposing views (avoiding or obfuscating the hard evidence presented by the dissenters). It is known that some of the 'skeptics' have intelligence agency backgrounds, like James Oberg, whereas others seems to be compromised individuals where we see multiple reports of sexual misconduct (making them likely pawns of the CIA- an agency that deals in disinformation).
Tyson has been active on the subjects of UFOs, Global Warming and GMOs (and in a few other areas) where his views follow the official line (except that the US military has now admitted to UFO reality). The way Tyson is exposed is through his own words, that do not make sense in the face of the evidence, science or logic. However, to the uninformed observer his comments do have the air of authority which carries a lot of weight in our society - a society strongly shaped by psychologically driven tendencies rather than lessons in rationality that we should remember from study.
