Russia Controls Bakhmut Roads Closes on Avdeevka; Ukraine HQ Destroyed, China Appoints Defence Chief (Alexander Mercouris)

Did Western NATO commanders get killed by the dozen in that HQ? Is Zelensky on Russia's side with his orders to hold Bakhmut for too long? It's one thing to hold a position and another to hold to the point where your position become surrounded. Napoleon would have moved before ending up in such a position and the same should be true for ANY general.

All escape routes from Bakhmut are under Russian fire control . Zelenskyy successfully created another slaughterhouse for Ukrainian troops. In reality Zelenskyy is the gift that keeps giving for the Russians. Ukraine already lost most trained and motivated soldiers along with almost all hardware it had before the war plus hundreds of tanks and IFVs it got from Eastern Europe (to understand the scale of losses it had 1990 tanks, 1212 IFVs, 1112 heavy artillery systems, 354 multiple rocket launchers) . Its army is a shadow of its former self at the beginning of the war. Mass summary executions for attempted surrender or unauthorized retreat just cause further demoralization and despair. Zelenskyy strategy is reduced to rounding up civilians often at gunpoint and throwing them into a meat grinder. Bakhmut is just the last instance of this insane tactic. Russians have 1:6 advantage in artillery according to WaPo of all places. 85% of Ukrainian soldiers are killed even without seeing an enemy. WSJ is quoting Ukrainian commander in Bakhmut as saying: “So far body count "exchange rate” is strongly in favor of the Russians. If we carry on like this, we will rapidly burn through all our conscription resources.”

The Ukrianian army are a tough nut when they are in trenches, high buildings, Azovstahl type factories, or forests. That's why they are clinging to that line where Bakhmut is the hub. They have been entrenching it for years. This purported Ukrainian relief counter attack will have to progress though open, muddy ground, hauling along supplies and ammunition for, what, 50000 troops? If the Ukrainians are so good at fighting on open ground, why do they even need Bakhmut, or Adieevka, or Vugledar?
I personally wonder why these "experts" think there will be a relief force coming to Bakhmut. Oh yeah, the Russians don't have aircraft, drones, helicopters? And massive artillery that they surely have already moved to the pincers to control the roads.
Ever heard of "shooting fish in a barrel"? Ever heard of fish wanting to get INTO that barrel?
