For more than a year Dutch farmers have been protesting onerous new regulations on nitrogen that they feel will force them to sell their farms, and now those farmers are seeing results — at the ballot box. The new pro-farmer party, BBB, made unprecedented gains in recent regional elections, and will wield substantial political power as a result in the new government.
