When it comes to peace talks the Russians would likely want something close to an unconditional surrender. They simply cannot trust the Kiev regime and their Western backers. 

In response to Western leaders being blind to reality, this is likely a strong reflection on how corrupt they are, acting like puppets for shadowy interests.

Today an Irish woman who worked in the Post Soviet disaster years in Russian orphanages spoke on the radio about her contacts with 'her children' some of whom are now fighting in the war. She was asked on the radio what Russians think of the war. She said they were doubtful at the start but now think they are fighting nazis and fighting against NATO aggression against their country and are united. She said sanctions aren't affecting them and in any case Russians keep many months of food supplies. She said she had talked to one of 'her boys' injured in hospital for the second time and expecting to go back to the front. He sent love to the people of Ireland and said he was fighting for us too. She couldn't understand what he meant but I can: Russia is fighting for all of us. Tears for him and all these men, deep appreciation and support.
