Turkey needs to stop its support for the various militant groups in Syria. They were also buying oil from ISIS. Turkey cannot be trusted, so we will wait to see what happens. However, there is an election upcoming in Turkey and the Turkish intervention is very unpopular.
The big point of agreement is that both Syria and Turkey have turned against the Kurds for siding with the USA - when they could have sided with the Syrian Government.
However, Assad is not some madman, so whatever is in store for the Kurds may not be at the extreme end of what could happen. Perhaps they will encourage the Kurds to drop the US and have Russia act as a security guarantor? This could happen because Putin is not a madman either. But if you believed everything in the dumb dumb media you might think so.
This is the real world. Meanwhile the US neocons will be doing everything they can to stop this and stir up trouble - at the expense of peace.
