Douglas Macgregor - Not Good Strategy

Good interview with MacGregor, particularly his comments on Taiwan and how they have business deals connected to China and that the war talk, in the context he describes, seems like a put on. They're jacked up to fight, but no one really wants to see it. It seems like it is more for show. Is he right? certainly the PLA's Naval capabilities keep expanding. Is it just to challenge the USA in the South China Sea? Anyway, it puts another dimension on the war talk. There is also some comment on the Ukraine war. The initial Russian invasion did not really have many committed troops. From all the vids on the subject it looks like Putin was hoping to make a deal and likely thought that Ukraine would eventually capitulate. However, he did not factor in massive Western support and so now things have changed. The one thing the Russians did do right was bring in a large amount of their artillery soon after the initial invasion. It helped them hold their lines during the various counter attacks.
