The Problem With Canon - ENRAGED Writers Hate Fans Force Them To Make Sense (Disparu)

Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is among many series where canon has been contradicted to appease the writers, not the fans. Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney+ also followed this strange contradiction of prequel as a canon loophole.

But as writers and journalists talk more about the reason why, such as in The Witcher series with Henry Caville where writers hated and actively mocked the source material and games, we know why the quality is low. The question is why break canon in Rings of power or The Witcher? What do the writers of Rings of Power, Obi-Wan Kenobi and The Witcher want to achieve?

From Disparu:

We've long had the theory that writers didn't like the IP's they were writing for, but recently several examples have actually proved it. Journalists for a long time have despised canon because for one reason, it means they have to actually know what they're talking about, but it also prevents them pushing the ideas they want to force into entertainment. So recently there has been a whole host of articles and arguments coming forwards against the fans to try and destroy the idea of canon altogether.

Comment from this site:

You can certainly make anything you want but you cannot force other people to like it. And it's not a good idea to tell invested fans they're bigots etc. I've seen good shows that reimagine an original series (The Prisoner), but they declare this. If old fan don't like the new thing then there is at least firewall between the two things. When shows attempt to do a continuity based thing, and prequel and retcon what they have latched onto, where they ignore various facts and show reality, then it's gonna be a problem.
