Prof Christian Schlüchter presentation May 2016. Alpine discoveries show that the pre-industrial Roman era was warmer than today. In fact most of the last 10,000 years since the end of the last ice age were warmer than today.
Logs from trees that grew where the present glaciers exist can be found in the ice flow. It is obvious the climate was much hotter in the relatively recent past. The world is not going to end due to "runaway warming". Even with elevated CO2 there is no massive warming signal and the present temperatures exist well inside normal variables. Temps go up and down regardless of the CO2 levels, as if they do next to nothing in terms of driving the climate. People who seriously think the world is set to end in a few short decades need to take heart. We have a lot of problems, but overheating is not one of them.
