Ruble-Hryvnia Parity and Shifting Military Assets to Plug up Holes (The Duran)

The key economic thing here is that the Russian Ruble is near parity with the Ukrainian Hryvnia and that the Russians are paying higher salaries than Kiev. This means that many people in the conflict zone are more willing to move to the Russian controlled areas in order to have better lives. It helps undermine the Ukrainian efforts.

In terms of the war it's now obvious that Kiev forces have been shelling the nuclear power plant in order to draw attention to themselves, while Russia has invited inspectors to see it is not being used to house military equipment or personnel. There is no reason for the Russians to use the plant in such a way. Otherwise is seems the Ukrainian Army barely has enough soldiers in Donbas to maintain their positions.
