UK house prices have skyrocketed and yet the local population is not growing. The Lotus Eaters point to immigration that has caused a huge increase in prices as more people pile into the country. Housing is now unaffordable except if you are prepared to take on a 50 year loan. And if interest rates rise those with huge loans will default.
