EVS makes a good point about the activist women writers not treating superheroes seriously. They see them as silly and a bit of fun, and an opportunity to scold the boys. It makes me think that this is how a lot of women see science fiction, as something silly. But it's not true for every woman. Someone like Marcia Lucas had a better sense of tone for Star Wars than George did and was dismayed at how he handled the Prequel series. The SJW activist types are not of the Marcia Lucas calibre when it comes to producing a mature story. Check out the 3 hour livestream.

EVS also points out that if there has been any increase in US comic book sales it is only because they jacked up the prices. Sales of Manga are up but US comics are in a hole.
