A large portion of 'normal people' don't buy into all the oppression Olympics virtue signaling bulldust that the leftists have bought. They are more concerned with street level violence and the economy and voted accordingly.

The leftists have been lied to and brainwashed and believe that the US is turning into a Nazi dictatorship where gays and minorities will be sent to concentration camps. This is ridiculous nonsense. Furthermore, many of these same people are happy to follow along with communist style authoritarianism, with censorship of their political opponents, that's being pushed by the globalists through their Agenda 2030 program - something that is real, as opposed to the Nazi fiction they've lapped up.
