The Chinese, and the rest of the world, are sick of the US bullying and double crossing them. The promise with Trump is that he'll stick to whatever deals are made, however harsh they may be.

Word is that the over-the-top rhetoric and open double standards has pissed off a lot of the rest of the world. It's not just China. Every country is being run by compromised politicians but a lot of them in the West are out of control maniacs that give a bad name to the normal levels of corruption. This is why allied countries to the USA, like Saudi Arabia, are turning towards the BRICS group and are making solid moves to dump the US dollar as a transactional vehicle in global trade. Bilateral currency swaps can cut out the use of the US dollar. In the longer run this will not be good for the USA. However, some level of isolationism is good. Look at what happened to Russia with the sanctions. They still traded with China and sold energy, but restrictions on imports has boosted their internal production. The US could do the same, after their financial system/debt resets (crashes).
