WATCH: Niall Ferguson Stuns World Leaders at ARC Australia - "Are we the Soviets now?"

"Nobody believed in the system anymore."

In recent years academics have coined the term 'late Soviet America' in response to alarming similarities between conditions in the late Soviet Union prior to its downfall, and those we see in US society today and across Western nations more broadly.

At our recent ARC Australia conference, Sir Niall Ferguson shared his insightful analysis of this comparison, and called for a concerted effort to revitalise the West with the liberal-democratic ideals that have underpinned its flourishing.

The parallels are outlined in this 19 min video, and you can expand upon them in terms of a rigged system that helps the elite but doesn't help ordinary people.

While the real economy is in a hole, fake reporting and rigged stock markets make things seem better than they are. People on the ground know better. They can see things with their own eyes. Life expectancy, job opportunities (income levels vs cost of living), and safety have all declined markedly. There's censorship of the truth, and political dissent is being crushed in the MSM, but thankfully not in the alt media.

So there might be parallels, but the forces against this broken dystopian system are very much alive and undeniable.
