Did people die unnecessarily due to the Covid taskforce not recommending antibiotics? (Gerard Rennick)

One of the issues that needs to be addressed in the upcoming Senate Inquiry into the Terms of the Royal Commission is why did the National Covid Evidence Taskforce recommend against giving Azithromycin, an effective antibiotic to people with Covid.

It is very common for people, especially older people in aged care homes to catch a secondary bacterial infection from the initial viral infection.

In many cases it is the bacterial infection that kills the patient not the viral infection.

Azithromycin could have prevented deaths yet was withdrawn from the protocol.

Is this why so many people died in Victorian aged care homes in August 2020 under the mismanagement of Dan Andrews?
