Carl Sagan Warned Us About Fauci & Authoritarian Science!

20th century astronomer and television star Carl Sagan once gave an interview to PBS’s Charlie Rose and warned about the problems of authoritanianism in a society that lacks basic scientific knowledge. Sagan warned that authorities could use public ignorance to push policies that erode citizens’ fundamental rights.



Sagan is saying is that although some level of scientific knowledge is important, in terms of facts, understanding the process is the most important part, which means being able to ask questions, look at the data etc, to understand what is being put to you. This is opposed to just accepting dictates.

Usually we do assume everything is being well looked after, but if there is a lot of noise concerning an important issue it would be wise to find out what the fuss is with an open mind.
