Ukraine is compelled to launch immediately and with everything they have. They keep losing their weapon caches, keep getting their command centers hit, now losing aircraft on the ground and Russia is beginning a preemptive offensive. This could be due to a number of factors, such as a sudden increase of intelligence capabilities, or Ukraine suddenly accumulating assets where they can be targeted, but more likely its an indicator of Ukraine's collapsing air defensed. The recent daylight strike in Kiev saw a PATRIOT interceptor fall in the middle of the city, indicating that the battery that fired at the incoming, fired across the city. This could be due to a gap in the nearside ADS ring, due to an absentee; be it thin deployment, damaged/destroyed systems, or depleted ammo.

Bottom line, Ukraine has no choice and has to attack, ready or not and one place they are compelled to commit a significant fraction of their offensive, is Bakhmut.
