THEY FILMED IT (Russell Brand)

As the GOP prepare to take over the House and Nancy Pelosi departs from her position as Speaker, a new hagiography directed by her daughter has debuted on HBO. So, as Joe Biden fawns over her departure and the mainstream media once again participate in the whitewashing of politicians – how and where are we able to hold to account the most powerful and indeed richest members of congress?



Pelosi appears to have essentially doubled her wealth in the last ten years through 'legalised' insider trading. Of course the documentary won't be covering that sort of corruption or her involvement in pushing bloated bills through the Congress - bills that are not even read by the members of the House. Nothing will be mentioned about her support for various wars either. 

Brand nails the fact the doco is framing Pelosi through a social justice lens, making a big deal out of the fact she is a woman, rather than questioning her criminal behaviour (if ordinary people did what members of Congress do in their businesses or daily lives they'd be be facing criminal charges).
