Comic Book Direct Market NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE! Audience is GONE! (Michael Bancroft)
The direct market is bricks and mortar shops, and small creators have trouble selling enough copies to make a profit. Selling online is the way to go for creator owned comics who are either keyed into a marketing network like comicsgate or have an already established online presence. They must also have a quality product that has a level of appeal to mainstream audiences. You can't sell a lot of product if it is targeting a fringe audience, which is something the SJWs do. Their targeting of a fringe audience, that does not buy a lot of comics, has destroyed the US industry.
This Tweet thread posted in the video is particularly instructive when it comes to SJWs and the present state of comics:
Sky/Harley
"Why not make make a new character?"
Because they won't have the platform an existing character will have.

Ethan Van Sciver
"We don't create things. We're not at all creative, and it takes too long to build a platform. So we ruin what other people have already built in order to spread out poisonous identify politics instead." - SJWs
And identity politics IS poison. It hates on straight (white, but not always) males and is ethically vacuous (resorting to extreme violence in reaction to minor slights for example).
