Economic Collapse As Debt Yields to Explode to 20% | Alasdair Macleod (WTFinance)

On this episode of the WTFinance podcast I had the pleasure of welcoming back Alasdair Macleod. Alasdair Macleod has over decades of experience in financial markets, with a focus on monetary history, systemic risk, and the enduring role of gold. He is one of the most respected voices on sound money and wealth preservation.

During our conversation we spoke about the current situation in the economy, the geopolitical crisis we're working through, Scott Bessents buyback, why yields could go to 20% and more. I hope you enjoy!

Global bond yields are rising caused by rising oil prices and struggling agriculture in the northern hemisphere. Although this video looks primarily at what the US might do to stop it, the same problem will arise with all heavily indebted countries. The basic truth is that the global economy is going down the drain, and the bond yields are a reflection of this fact.

Australian democracy is under attack (Leithvo)

The weekend's Treasury of Common Sense with Luke Grant at Radio 2GB/4BC explained how data centres threaten to upend Australia's energy system. I also explain how bureaucrats and the federal government are assaulting Australia's democracy.

The first part of this clip deals with energy shortages in the face of massive increases in power usage from data centres, EVs, and an increasing (migrant) population. The solution is to cut back on all of these things and to maintain the use of coal power stations rather than shutting them down. The second part of the interview looks at Government Internet censorship that would stop dissenting voices by using broad labels such as 'hate speech' or 'harmful misinformation' - something you would expect in an authoritarian dictatorship.

U.S. Running Out of Ways to End Iran War (Daniel Davis)

Professor Marandi appearing on the Daniel Davis channel.

The headline for this video is correct. The problem is that the US and Israelis are not prepared to accept terms offered by Iran. The Israelis will not stop attacking Lebanon or Gaza and the US wants control of the Strait of Hormuz.

Marandi points out that it's been the US-Israeli side that have broken negotiated agreements to stop the fighting multiple times. No deals can therefore be made with the US regarding Iran where the only way the situation will be resolved is if the US actually physically withdraws from the region.

With no other choice Iran is going on the offensive to target the US in the region, hitting their economic assets, and also their allies. Marandi points out that Iran doesn't need to strike tankers coming through the Strait to stop oil shipments but can directly hit oil installations. So far they have held off doing so (to prevent a global economic calamity), but will strike if they are attacked in a similar fashion.

The war between Yemen and Saudi Arabia is another front in this conflict. Already some oil infrastructure has been hit by the Yemenis - and if things continue, the Gulf States will no longer be viable in their present forms. Oil prices on the open market are heading toward 150 dollars per barrel and will go much higher if this continues, with money going to other producers, and none to the Gulf region.

Whichever way you look at the situation the end result seems to be a loss for the US, the Gulf States and probably Israel (that has guaranteed US economic support in any event).

Douglas Macgregor: When Governments Have Contempt for Their Own People (Daniel Davis)

The big question is, are enough people in Europe waking up? They've been softened up over the last few decades - brainwashed by globalist ideas. Thankfully facts on the ground, and the alternative media, has educated many to cause them to rebel.

Colonel Macgregor believes that a rebellion is forming over mass migration and reminds people of Napoleon's view that a country is made up of the State, Army and People. Macgregor hopes, or thinks, that army chiefs may eventually step in if a rebellion breaks out, or lead it, but the problem is the military has become heavily politicised, and that the intelligence agencies have control of key people in order to stop them acting independently. Military leaders are the targets of intelligence bribery and blackmailing. They are more likely to put down a rebellion than lead it, although big political changes are another matter (such as wins by National Rally, AfD or Restore Britain).

When it comes to the war in Ukraine Macgregor says that Russia is now fighting to win, not to cut some deal, and knows it cannot leave neo-Nazis or globalists in power.

The end result of all the fighting around the world will apparently be a US withdrawal from Europe and the Middle East, but Israel is the sticking point. They'll want the wars fought to the last Ukrainian (to weaken Russian influence), or the last US serviceman in the Middle East, and at the expense of US Gulf State allies in that theatre.

Russia Begins To Isolate Kiev. Elites Rattled as Rail Link Hit (The Duran)

Trump publicly blames Zelensky for the diesel price shortage even though he personally authorized the strikes on Russian oil refineries that caused it. In this episode we break down how the failed Ukrainian drone offensive, Eric Schmidt's grim admission that Kiev is losing the war, and new Russian strikes on the Kiev to Poland rail line all point toward Russia tightening its grip on the Ukrainian capital much like it did in Odessa. Is Washington preparing to abandon Kiev, or will the pressure for escalation from Sikorski, Rutte and Schmidt win out?

Merz Failed Platform of War and Deindustrialization (The Duran)

Germany is in political turmoil as the AfD surges to record highs following the Saxony Anhalt election, leaving Chancellor Friedrich Merz and his CDU government reeling. In this episode we break down why Merz looks like a dead man walking, how his disastrous Bundestag clash with Alice Weidel exposed the CDU's weakness, and why Brussels may punish German voters the same way it targeted Hungary and Poland. Is Germany's political establishment about to lose control entirely?

The Duran looking at politics in Germany. One of the key things they point out is that deindustrialisation for many Germany people is seen as a disgrace. This is what globalisation has brought. The end of the clip is excellent, where Alexander urges a future AfD Government to move instantly, to restore the Deutsche Mark, talk to Putin on day one, restore gas supplies to lower energy costs, and likely begin the process of mass deportations (the unnamed polices he refers to) - all before the EU can organise to stop it.
On top of this, Merz is a dangerous globalist clown. The only benefit is that he is encouraging ordinary Germans to vote for the AfD.

Note: It's important that Europe sorts itself out now before countries become balkanised and civil war breaks out. Signs of this are already apparent. It's up to voters to change things, by voting for nationalist parties, before the situation really slides out of hand.

Time Stamps:

00:00:00 Saxony Anhalt election result and Merz's canceled Trump call

Brace for more credit rating downgrades (Leithvo)

This interview with Bill McDonald at ABC Radio Brisbane discusses Queensland's credit rating downgrade and the outlook for other state governments.

The credit down grades are the first major step on the road to ruin. Increased interest rates will cause an inevitable cut in services and/or raised taxes. Austerity is coming without a doubt. Cutting the pay of public servants would also be considered too. This is what happens with reckless spending.

Houthis Seize More Territory as War Turns Against America /Patrick Henningsen (Daniel Davis)

Excellent must see interview with Henningsen who explains the context for the war with Yemen, that the Houthis only attacked after the truce was broken, and that the Saudi mercenaries have been poorly treated and are not prepared to fight against a determined opposition. Plus the US can no longer occupy, or set up, bases in the region because they're easily targeted. The existing ones are largely destroyed. They basically lost already while causing oil prices to skyrocket due to their failure to fully back off. Iran won't back down until the MOU demands are met.

Best comments on You Tube:

US military are mercenaries for Israel. For billionnaires. Our gov is for rich. Bribed. Not for Americans.

@Enonimus9999
The CIA and Mossad ISIS goons currently control Syria, and those Nazis want the same for the entire Arab and Muslim world. But thanks to the Yemeni, Iranian, Russian and the CCP resistance, it will not happened.

Diesel Crisis Worsens as Houthis Tighten Grip on al-Mandeb Strait (The Duran)

Diesel and gasoline prices are hitting historic highs as Donald Trump finally admits the United States is at war with Iran, a war he now says will not end until after the midterms. In this episode we break down how a spiraling energy crisis, a resurgent Houthi offensive against Saudi Arabia, and Scott Bessent's plan to use the energy shock against China could collide into a genuine economic storm for the West. Ukraine's military and financial collapse is accelerating as Russian forces bomb Black Sea ports and logistics hubs while Kiev runs low on fuel and cash. In this episode we break down Putin's blunt advice to Trump to simply stop helping Ukraine, the CIA's Ratcliffe pushing to replace Witkoff and Kushner as chief negotiator, and the New York Times and Spectator reports admitting Ukraine is losing the war. Peter Schiff: Economic Armageddon - Bonds & Dollar in Crisis (Glenn Deisen)

Peter Schiff is the CEO of Euro Pacific Asset Management and the host of the Peter Schiff Show.

A few observations: Schiff is probably wrong about US tariffs. He talked about investing overseas in regions that were producing things, and seems to think it's okay that the US has outsourced a massive amount of their own productive capacity. Furthermore, sanctions on Russia helped their domestic industries. Of course prices for goods will rise in the short term under a tariff regime, but longer term protectionism protects local production. Schiff comes across as having TDS despite the fact one can fairly criticise a lot of what the President is doing during his second term.

Also, causing an economic crisis might actually be the plan. Losing the wars in the Middle East and against Russia might be an objective for Trump. He wanted to wind back US overseas commitments and the they tried to kill him. Although Trump is old he does actually understand second and third order consequences. It's how he operated previously. It's possible he is still using this strategy, giving the Deep State and Israel everything they want, and more, that's leading to disaster.

Douglas Macgregor: U.S. Defeated in Iran & Israel Will Not Survive (Glenn Deisen)

Douglas Macgregor is a retired Colonel, combat veteran, and former senior advisor to the U.S. Secretary of Defense.

Excellent assessment from Macgregor. The title for this clip does not tell the whole story. Macgregor sees the war against Iran as a no win situation, with the US, that is under the influence of the Israelis, withdrawing from Central Asia, following on from the British Empire, and that the war in Ukraine is now finally on its last legs. Economic disaster is on the way too. He thinks there will be (political) revolution in the West against the globalists, and there are already signs of this happening. People on the street can see the truth directly, and also via the alternative media, and are acting accordingly. The main thing to consider, in terms of creating a better future, is that truth and transparency is essential. Thankfully we are already on this path.
