ARGENTINA in Deep Trouble (Joe Blogs)

Argentina is back in the spotlight as Javier Milei faces growing pressure at home while dramatically escalating the country’s long-running dispute over the Falkland Islands.

In this video, I look at Argentina’s economy, inflation, Milei’s falling popularity, the new sanctions targeting companies involved in Falklands oil development, the huge Sea Lion oil project, and why Donald Trump’s comments have added a new dimension to the dispute.

Is this simply domestic politics and nationalism, or are we seeing the Falklands issue becoming much more serious again?

The Falkland Islanders don't want to be part of Argentina. That should be the end of the discussion. The UK could also back off when it comes to oil exploration, which has Israeli involvement. It would further help the UK if they improved their military presence on the Island. Apparently thousands of drones have been moved to the Island, some with a 1000 km range. This is a good start. More drones and more personnel are needed.

Trump BETRAYS American Farmers Goes Full Argentina First (Kim Iversen)

Trump's approval rating has gone negative in 47 states — only Wyoming, Idaho, and West Virginia still net positive, and all three have lost double digits since 2024 — while he announces 300,000 metric tons of Argentinian beef at 25% below market price over 90 days, telling reporters Argentina is "fighting for its life" as 77 American cattle producers go out of business per day. Ranchers who were Trump's most loyal base are calling it a slap in the face.

South America Is ON FIRE & Israel Is The Reason Why! (Jimmy Dore)

We now know that Israeli tourists were responsible for multiple wildfire incidents in Chile and Patagonia over the years and that those events were likely connected to a long-circulating planned Zionist effort to establish a Jewish state in southern South America.

Jimmy and Americans’ Comedian Kurt Metzger cite past reports of Israeli tourists detained or expelled for fire-related violations and speculate about political, military, and economic ties between Israel and Chile and Argentina, suggesting these relationships could facilitate land acquisition after wildfires.

The two also criticize Chilean and Argentine political leaders, including President Javier Milei and Chilean officials, portraying their cooperation with Israel as part of a broader geopolitical strategy. Throughout, the commentary presents the fires and diplomatic relationships as coordinated actions rather than isolated incidents, framing them as evidence of Israel’s expansionist agenda

He's changing South America... but will he change the World? And Australia? Topher Project Ep 317

Milei didn't just defy economists predictions... he has destroyed Keynsian Economics entirely.

Now, other South American countries are watching on with envy, and some, like Chile, are following suit.

But what did Milei do that was so special? And how do we make that happen here?

The REAL Reason We’re Giving $40 Billion To Argentina Is UNBELIEVABLE! (Jimmy Dore)

The Trump administration’s proposed $40 billion bailout to Argentina would seem to contradict Trump’s “America First” rhetoric and shows this President is willing to treat the US treasury like a cash register doling out ungodly sums of taxpayer dollars to global billionaire interests.

As Jimmy and Americans’ Comedian Kurt Metzger discuss, the bailout is structured in a way that allows private hedge funds — such as those tied to billionaire Rob Citrone and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant — to reap profits while U.S. taxpayers absorb the risk. Jimmy also points out that the policy is being pushed despite Argentina’s poor economic track record and adverse impact on U.S. farmers (especially soybean and beef producers) in a trade war context.

This bailout is sadly just another part of a broader system where government subsidies favor elite global interests while American workers and everyday citizens get the shaft but still get to foot the bill

Milei needs a US bailout (TheDuran)

Milei did not sort out the problem of Argentina's debt and trade relationships, and so fell into the same trap as previous governments.

Britain is so Cooked (Sargon)

We are just done, man.

Sargon of Akkad ranting about the UK economy for 50 plus minutes, with some reference to Argentina, and delving into other matters. Funny clip. Very entertaining.

Australia risks becoming the next Argentina (Leithvo)

This weekend's Treasury of Common Sense on Radio 2GB dissected the drivers of Australia's structural economic decay.

Good points raised about the Australian economy, that energy costs are too high, that businesses and industry struggle here, or shut down, and that there's not enough infrastructure and housing to support the influx of people. Are we heading towards an situation like Argentina? The big danger is a currency devaluation in future years, depending on the debt levels. Weak countries tend to be targeted by international finance in order to make a quick buck. One answer is to support anti globalist minor parties that will do something about high energy prices (restoring coal baseload power rapidly) and cut back immigration. You can vote to avoid a future calamity, or just go along for the ride.

Wow... Javier Milei just freaking WENT THERE!!!! He just FIRED 70,000 gov employees! (Liberal Hivemind)

As an experiment it will be interesting to see how this develops and what services and regulations have been kept. Milei talked about fighting corruption and waste, so he needs something to control these things within the country. He cannot let things be run in an entirely hands off laissez-faire way or else the big money players will come in and run everything in a similarly corrupt way. There might be less waste in such a new system but it could be done at the expense of ordinary workers. Good Governance needs to keep everyone are arms length and maintain a fair playing field with certain rules against fraud and monopolistic control.

Note: He said he was an anti globalist, so maybe he is for closed borders and local production? This sort of self sufficient economic model is likely the best way to go. Look at Russia under the sanctions. They're booming. It helps that they are selling a lot of oil, but their domestic economy is making lots of things locally that's boosting business operations in the country. They are also still freely trading with most of the rest of the world, including China.

Javier Milei Delivers FIERCEST SPEECH EVER at Davos (Steve Turley)

Steve Turley summarising Milei's speech at Davos. Even if you don't agree with everything being articulated it is worth checking out the full speech. Milei basically talked about the threat of socialism and how free enterprise drove wealth creation throughout the world. He gives his view of economic history.

The key thing about the view offered here is the protection of private property, along with life and liberty. He sees the roll of the Government as protecting these rights. The economist Paul Craig Roberts would point out that having a complete laissez-faire (hands off) system does not work because the big money simply buys up everything so we need rules to maintain a free market system, as opposed to a bought out and gamed market. In this regard the Government should certainly not be bailing out the big banks. Failing in an economic system, and in nature, does happen. However, one could also argue that a basic social safety net is useful too, where charity goes to the needy. The best part of Milei's speech is at the end where he labels the globalist elites and State power as parasites.

“Get Ready To Feel Some Pain” – New Argentine President To Country (Jimmy Dore)

Newly elected Argentine President Javier Milei was swept into office on a promise to fix the nation's stagnant economy by reversing the woke, socialist policies of his predecessors. Now that he's in office, he's telling Argentinians to prepare for pain while he imposes shock on the nation's economy.

"Argentina Is Waking up" (Tony Heller)

"I did not come here to guide lambs. I came to awaken lions"

Here's a clip from the new President of Argentina. Amazing rhetoric. He's going after the political class. He is saying they should not be greater than the ordinary people that keep them in office via jobs and businesses (the taxpayers). He says that if they screw up they will pay the penalty. If you listen you will see why a lot of people voted for him. The guy is also an economist. Try to ignore the background music !
