A very good summary assessment of the war in Ukraine explaining that the Russian perspective on what is happening seems more accurate. The assessment is built upon various independent military analyses looking at hard data from the conflict. The Russians are not going for territory so much as slowly pounding the Ukrainian Army on the ground to dust. Only after they've destroyed much of the Ukrainian Army are they likely to engage in rapid advances. This is reminiscent of what the US Coalition forces did to Iraq in the 1990-91 Gulf War.
